The Production Department in a film or tv production is the core team responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of a film’s creation, from pre-production to post-production. This department manages logistics, scheduling, budgeting, accounting, and communication, ensuring that everything runs smoothly on set and behind the scenes. Key roles within the production department include the Producer, Line Producer, Production Manager, Production Coordinator, Production Secretary,, Assistant Director/s (1st AD, 2nd AD, 3rd AD, Set PA), Production Accountant, Assistant Production Accountant/s, Accounts Clerk, and Production Assistants, all of whom work together to keep the project on track, both creatively and operationally.

EPK content is critical for selling the production to the world by capturing marketing materials, engaging audiences and creating buzz before a film or show’s release. Within the Production department is the Accounts team, responsible for managing the financial aspects of the project. This team tracks, records, and controls the budget to ensure that the production stays financially on course. Key roles include the Production Accountant, Assistant Accountant, and Accounts Clerk, who work closely with the Producer and Line Producer.
The Accounts team handles payments, payroll, purchase orders, petty cash, and financial documentation. They prepare reports, reconcile budgets, and ensure compliance with tax and legal regulations, keeping the production financially organised, accountable and on track.
